Your Consultant
Dr. Andreas A. Bastian
With over 10 years of international experience in the Life Sciences and pharmaceutical industries, Dr. Bastian developed a passion for technology transfer and the commercialization of innovative therapeutics and medical devices.
As a former founder and CEO of a biotech startup, he understands the challenges of launching and managing a biotech-startup. His motto is: "Communication is key," as it is vital for securing venture capital, non-dilutive funding, partnerships, and successful project management.
In his previous role as Head of Strategic Project Management in a pharmaceutical company's business development unit, Dr. Bastian gained insights not only from the perspective of scientists and startup founders but also from that of larger companies. At MERKBAST Consulting, he shares his expertise with ambitious biotech entrepreneurs.
Dr. Bastian holds a doctorate in chemistry and is a certified Pharmaceutical Consultant (according to §75 of the Drug Act) by the State Office for Social Affairs, Youth, and Care in Rhineland-Palatinate. With a hands-on mentality, he offers constructive, solution-oriented advice to identify risks and opportunities early on.
